Why should we hire a Wedding Planner?

Because you are planning a Caribbean wedding, it’s best to get someone who knows the islands inside out, who can recommend and make suggestions and can handle all the legal processing of the documents to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Just remember if you want a new car or have legal or financial worries you always seek the advice from an expert. Surely you would do the same when planning one of the most important days of your life?

What is the difference between a venue coordinator and a wedding planner?

A venue coordinator works for the venue - that is where their loyalties lie. Their job is to answer your questions about the venue and assist you with your venue layout and tasting. It isn't there job to assist you with all the details that goes with planning your big day.

As a wedding planner our loyalty is to you, our client. Our job is to assess what level of service you need and do everything we can to ensure your wedding reflects your unique style and taste.

My reception venue has a wedding coordinator; do I still need to hire a wedding planner?

Yes, a wedding co-ordinator is someone who will be contacted by a client if they want the extra reassurance of a professional there on the wedding day. A wedding co-ordinator will meet with a client, double check with suppliers, introduce themselves and finally attend on the day to make sure that everything happens the way it's supposed to.

A wedding planner, on the other hand, will actually become involved from the very beginning of the planning process. They will plan everything from finding a venue and suppliers to actually being there on the day to make sure everything runs smoothly. This takes away a lot of the stress and worry from you.

Do I need a wedding planner even though my family and friends have offered to help?

Yes, even though our family have good intentions, your family and friends deserve to enjoy the day as much as you do and not spend it working. We are there to keep the day running smoothly and offer a high level of service.

How far in advance should we book our wedding?

We usually book weddings 4-6 months or even one year in advance prior to your wedding date. For larger weddings we recommend 6-9 months in advance. But we will always advice the earlier the better to guarantee the venue you desire.

What is required to be married in the Caribbean?

The Caribbean with fewer restrictions than Europe has a very straight forward process to marry couples. The following documentation is required for a licence:

• Proof of citizenship – a certified copy of your birth certificate, which includes your father's name.
• Parent's written consent (if under 18 years of age).
• Proof of divorce (if applicable) original certificate of divorce.
• Certified copy of death certificate (if applicable) for widow or widower.
• Photo ID, passport of drivers licence
• Notarised translation of documents to English if they are in a different language

The length of time you have to stay on the islands before you tie the knot may vary. Please contact us to find out more on your chosen destination.
