I love colour and as some of you may know I’ve been talking about how you can wear this year’s Pantone colours in previous posts. However I know whilst some of you like the idea of colour, the thought of coming down the aisle in a non traditional dress is rather daunting, so this post is for you.

Last week at Barcelona Bridal Week one of my favourite fashion houses Pronovias celebrated their 50th anniversay by closing the event in fine style. Using Pantone’s Placid Blue and Hemlock along with popular on trend blush pink they showed how you can subtlely use these colours on your dress with coloured flower appliqués.

So what do you think?  Do you like them and if so which ones are your favourite?

Its definitely another way of using colour without just using your shoes or your accessories to express yourself.

At the Oscar’s, The 12 Years a Slave star, stunned again with a  floor-length pale blue Prada gown, inspired by champagne bubbles and thoughts of home. This custom made dress was embellished with crystals a Fred Leighton headband, gem-drop earrings and delicate gold bangles.

To get this look head to Coast for one of their blue maxi dresses and Net-A-Porter for their earrings and hair jewellery.

For the last few weeks I have been mentioning the new spring colours for 2014 and the stars at the recent Grammy Awards have just helped me to highlight how you can rock these latest trends. Pink, Alicia Keys and Giuliana Rancic took centre stage in Pantone’s Cayenne, Celosia Orange and Dazzling Blue to show just how elegant and stylish these colours can be.

But if you’re still unsure about colour, Iggy Azalea and Beyonce showed how you can still wear wonderous white but with a difference. Iggy chose an Elie Saab gown covered with delicate sequins and beading, whilst ‘B’ opted for a sheer number with floral patterns – very on trend.

For those of you who liked my hues of pink post last week, Katy Perry and Kacey Musgrave show how it can be worn subtley with their nude tulle numbers.

Whilst Ciara, Tyler Swift and Christy Tiegan showed off how you can do the Great Gatsby with these smouldering molten metallic dresses.

So while we are in the throes of winter, I thought we should continue with all things colourful. Vera Wang’s Fall 2014 collection does not disappoint as it has colour in abundance with every shade of pink  you can think of.

Filled with big skirts, 3D statement flowers and draped layers Vera’s collection was filled with lilac, coral and blush pink designs. So if you are a bride who is looking for an alternative to white for her wedding and loves the pink family this may be a real option for you.

So which design is your favourite and are you going to think Pink?

In a sea of respectable black and white, 12 Years a slave actress Lupita Nyongo shows just how you can stand out and make your presence felt in this stunning Cayenne coloured Ralph Lauren gown.

Cayenne is another spring 2014 colour from Pantone and as they state ‘its a high pitched red which adds a dash of spicy heat to neutrals’ and I’m sure you agree she and the dress does this pretty well.

With more and more colour becoming part of the main bridal gown its a colour worth considering if you are looking for something different, so don’t limit yourself to white if this isn’t what you really want to do.

Well with a new year comes a new range of trend colours from Pantone, the global authority on colour. This year Pantone has revealed that Radiant Orchid is the colour for 2014. A colour with a captivating harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, that emanates great joy, love and health.My clients last year were in love with the colour purple and you can see below how they managed to mix Radiant Orchid in for inspiration.

So with the Christmas holidays fast approaching I can just about squeeze in the last part of this gorgeous bridal shoot I styled.  Looking at the ceremony this week I decided to use another dress from Amsale Bridal this time Harbor along with a dinner suit from Stephen Bishop Suiting. The scene moved to the famous Gothic Temple at Painshill Park and we were able to create the sophisticated look with a bespoke Partumis Metal Arch and flowers by the talented  White Orchid.

This post is about the munchkins I decided to use for this shoot. Why children? Well for one, they are the cutest things on the planet and for two they fundamentally make a wedding. Yes its the couple’s day but its also about making the day fun for the children as well as the adults. I know once the kids have been let loose from the shackles of wedding formality they will be having just as much fun if not more than the adults and that is what I wanted to capture. Just take a look at the images, priceless!

With custom made sashes, bow tie and cumberband from the lovely Little Bevan along with outfits and shoes the children had a great time discovering Painshill Park. My thanks to Isabella, Poppy, Minnie and Callum for making the day very fun and memorable. I don’t know how I’ve managed to keep this quiet for so long, but I’m super excited to now announce that my August photoshoot has been published in Conde Nast Brides this month (yippee).

Inspiration behind the shoot was moving away from vintage (finally) and showing how you really can have a beautiful garden wedding that is just as sophisticated as it would be inside.

Using one of Pantone’s colours of 2013, grayed jade along with ivory and gold I set about finding a UK space that would offer the sophisticated rivera look that I was after. Painshill Park which is based in Surrey, England fitted the bill perfectly.

With my main focus on the beauty of the outdoors I really wanted to use the succulent plant that you can find outdoors as my main floral theme, and this was included and handmade on the gorgeous cake and mini cakes. Whilst the colour grayed jade was the focus for the dessert bar instead of just sweets.
