So this week it was a toss up between discussing what human rights barrister Amal Alamuddin wore on her wedding day to Oscar-winning hubby George Clooney or to finish the fashion week run. I choice to finish what I had started considering Paris Fashion Week is the last one for now. However Amal did help me out, as the dress she wore the day after her wedding was from designer Giambattista Valli who I’ve chosen to feature (above and below) as one of my favourites from Paris Fashion Week.
Giambattista’s collection for Spring Summer 2015 stemmed from his fascination with Japan’s postwar Metabolist movement, which balanced industrial and artisanal design, the machine and the hand. Valli was insistent that his new collection expressed that balance and featured branches of blossom sprayed across simple outfits and gorgeous silhouettes. Like it, check out more of his collection here.
As you may know Elie Saab is definitely one of my favourite red carpet designers and as a pleasant change from his normal loveliness for SS15 he’s been influenced by the sports buzz going around. But in typical Elie style as you can see in the dress above on the left he has achieved it in his own way, nice. But whilst there was change he did produce a group of dresses that will definitely be hitting the red carpet this award season for their stand out sparkle and brightness. Liking Mr Saab here’s a few pieces for you to add to your collection.
Well when it comes to Valentino what can I say except the show provided a series of beautiful dresses from embroidery of underwater creatures and shells to boho scarf like dresses. If you like any of the below, check out some more outfits here.
Finally Chloé made an impact on me for its practical prettiness. Just simply great silhouettes that speak for themselves. I would definitely see this collection in someone’s honeymoon suitcase.
