Dress Inspiration: Royal Ascot 2014

Its Royal Ascot this week and with hats and heels a plenty I thought it would be nice to have a look at dresses from the High Street that you could wear for Ladies Day or for those special events that you may have coming up.

If you are looking for summer pastels try one of these, on the left the V necked Ariella cap sleeve dress which comes in the on trend colour of blush costing £60.  Coast’s One shoulder Poppy dress in a cool mint shade with a pleated bodice and full tulle skirt, costing £85, or this sherbert yellow bandeau dress from Top Shop, cut with a structured panel bodice, full layered skirt and an array of applique flowers scattered all-over, price £85.

If you are looking for something that will make a statement, why not try the Reiss cardinal red v neck cap sleeve dress on the left. This Fifties-esque fit and flare style has pleat detail to the front and back, a full skirt with side pockets and trim detail to the neckline and armholes £159. In the centre there’s this gorgeous Optic white silk and cotton laser cut box pleat dress from Alexander McQueen featuring a round neck and a contrasting nude exposed lining £2,762. Whilst on the right this Rose pink cotton blend shift dress from Stella McCartney featuring a crew neck, red floral hem embroidery, and three-quarter length sleeves £705.94.

If blue is your colour what about this Blue and white cotton ‘Fagiolino’ blouse dress from Stella Jean  on the left featuring notched lapels, a fitted waist and a pleated a-line shape skirt. This stylish dress has a fitted graphic lace bodice which flares into a pretty pleated skirt £195.

And for something completely different but very on trend what about this, Green cotton blend dress from Kenzo featuring a square neck, an all-over print and flared skirt priced at £372. In the middle a white green and black cotton-blend colour block shift dress from Cedric Charlier featuring a round neck, a box pleat detail to the back and a curved hem £198.57. While on the right this Marni Floral print dress featuring a cotton silk pleated skirt and floral print. £587.
