Well for the past week, Paris has been playing host to the Spring 2015 Haute Couture catwalks and the dresses that show are so bespoke that they don’t even come with a price tag.
Haute Couture is all about making a statement even if no one buys the clothes and designers from Valentino to Zuhair Murad show off their most boldest, forward-thinking designs just to inspire.
Today I’ve just picked a few of my favourites to wet your appetites. Starting with Zuhair Murad, (featured above and below) a Beirut-based Lebanese designer, loved by Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Jennifer Lopez amongst others.
All I can say is Zuhair Murad’s Spring Couture collection is just stunning, dripping with beading, rippling embroidery, plunging necklines, and embellishments I didn’t know which dress to choose as they were so many eye catching stoppers.
The designers at Ralph & Russo were inspired by the ‘goddess of spring’ with details such as blue and white petal appliqué and pearl embroidery sewn to Fifties-style dresses and flirty tulle-lined strapless dresses. Gorgeous.
Finally I picked Chanel for fine tuning an attitude which is current at the moment. Flat sock-booties, bared midriffs, the slouchy skirts ending just below the knee, the huge Edwardian hats or the puffy beanies…they were today’s ingredients in the ongoing saga of Chanel’s constant reinvention.
