Can you believe how quickly this summer holiday has gone? I can’t and now its time to think about (if you haven’t done so already) the munchkins heading back to school and the list of clothes that all entails. Outerwear is usually a must on the list and having a good jacket to cover the cooler breeze will always be of value once the Autumn begins to hit us.
In the search to find a jacket that will cover the turn on the season two types of jackets spring to mind, the shearling and the bomber which I believe will be great additons to your kids Autumn wardrobe and I’ll tell you why. Starting with the shearling it’s a stylish and practical coat that pairs with more outfits than you might give it credit for. Warm and tactile shearling is the actual skin of a lamb or sheep with tanned suede on one side and the treated coat left attached on the other.
Finding a brand that won’t charge over the odds for a little shearling I look to the Berkeley jacket by Its In My Jeans, who have taken the traditional trucker denim jacket and added the shearling style at the neck with a Sherpa wool collar. Added to that they have also included a quilted inner lining for added warmth. If you like this denim look take a look here for more suggestions.
As for the bomber jacket, the reason for my choice is that the embroidered bomber jacket just won’t go away, whether its silky, colourful or embellished all over. Nor does it seem to want to go out of style, especially with its statement making colours and unique detailing this season. One such brand that has managed to capture this in a fun way is Mini Rodini whose AW18 collection is summed up nicely in the this little phrase;
From the mount of the moon
To the line of the sun
There are unidentified flying objects around
An adventure through love, space and time
A cat with psychic powers shares a good advice
The Cat that this refers to can be seen throughout the collection and is featured boldly on their Space Cat Baseball jacket which is lightly padded with a water-repellent BIONIC-FINISH® ECO coating and recycled with polyester satin lining. A very fun jacket to purchase and one that won’t go out of style any time soon. If you like what you see check out the full Mini Rodini collection here.
Until next week!
