Hello lovely readers, The Met Gala has normally been where the big fashion houses like Valentino and Givenchy have the opportunity to create bespoke gowns for the world’s biggest stars. But since last year, high street brands have slowly been encroaching on their haute couture territory. In my post last year we saw four of the world’s biggest models – Jourdan Dunn, Kendall Jenner, Toni Garrn and Chanel Iman wearing custom-made Topshop gowns, this year no less than nine attendees were kitted out in the British high street favourite. Lets take a look at some of them.
From left to right, models Bella Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski, Hailey Baldwin took up the Met Gala ‘China’ theme: Through the Looking Glass by wearing florals of some kind from Topshop’s limited edition red carpet collection, all of which are priced between £195 and £200 and can be found in store and online. Just click their names for full details.
Meanwhile models Maryna Linchuk and Lily Donaldson opted for more traditional red carpet looks from Topshop to celebrate the occasion and with only twenty of each dress style in the world check this page to see when they are available.
Topshop wasn’t the only high street brand at the Met Ball, H&M made its debut with the likes of High School Musical actress Vanessa Hudgens in a scarlet midi dress embellished with Swarovski jewels, while singer Janelle Monae also shone in their Chinese-inspired outfits. So what do you think?
